I have to admit I am so impressed with your story! It’s a really fantastic idea to call their moms. It is very kind and honest I think :) Usually people hide behind the company’s name and don’t admit their mistakes… In my opinion, honesty lets to achieve the company’s success and recognition. Well done!

It's not often that a business does go back and try to fix the situation the best as possible. Even rarer is a personal email from the business to individual consumers. Hopefully, after the headaches, everything went well with the bags.

Found your site today looking for Mother Days stuff for 2009. What I read in your story makes perfect sense. Proactive customer support. People care about the way you make them feel much more than the product you sell. Afterall they are buying the product for their mom not so much to say hey look her is something else to have, but for the though behind the gift and the memory it creates.

Mothers really know best. You stood up for your mistakes and expected the consequences. In return, they realized that and saw the good intent behind your actions.

Not often does a company actually call their customers to tell them they made a mistake that was totally their fault. Momma used to say that honesty is the best policy. Rarely does a customer get complete honesty from a company. Well done!

It seems that when people are so very honest, it wins others over. there are so many frauds out there and bad businesses that they may actually be doing us honest people some good. The fact that you emailed them and gave them your personal cell phone number helps also, not very many businesses would have gone that far into saying I am sorry.

Excellent story. I had a similiar kind of experience last christmas with one our major order got delivered to different customer living in different country & continent. Problem happened because of a Courier driver put a slip to different cover. Very angry customer and we explained her the whole problem. We have given her a second art work done free of cost. Most of the people will understand the problem, if we explain them properly. Excellent site too.. Keep it up guys..

That is a fantastic story and is the kind of story that needs to be told and told again so that even when it does not work out so well for all of us, we do our dead level best to make things right. Often times people hide behind the company in order to protect the name or worse the short-term bottom line but in fact the sewing of seeds for the long haul will yeild the greatest harvest both in terms of goodwill and profits. That is the ideal and although it may not always work out that way, it is what we strive for so we can be proud and live in peace.

Oh man, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the idea of offering to call their moms. I'm sure that image would have eliminated most of my irritation, and there's a 50/50 chance I would have take you up on it as part of the gift to my mom. (I'm sure she'd laugh too if you'd called her up)

Great story and great example.
